  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Choose ripe but firm bananas for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Prevents browning and adds flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted) Enhances texture and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) Adds a warm spice flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt (optional) Enhances sweetness.

Preparation

  • Peel the bananas and slice them evenly into thin disks, about 1/8 inch thick.
  • In a bowl, mix the lemon juice and melted coconut oil. Toss the banana slices in the mixture to coat them lightly.
  • If desired, sprinkle the cinnamon and a pinch of salt over the banana slices, mixing again to ensure an even coating.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook the banana slices for about 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Once the banana chips reach a golden color and are crisp, remove them from the air fryer and allow them to cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For serving, enjoy as is, or pair with nut butter, drizzle with melted dark chocolate, or add to a yogurt dip. They also make a great topping for smoothie bowls or oatmeal. Store in an airtight container for freshness.
