  • 1 large egg Whisked for the breading process.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise Adjust the amount for a creamier sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha Adjust to heat preference.

Garnish

  • Green onions, chopped Optional, for garnish.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the diced chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Set up your breading station: place flour in one bowl, whisk the egg in a second bowl, and add breadcrumbs to a third bowl.
  • Dip each seasoned chicken piece into the flour, shaking off excess. Then dip into the egg, letting excess drip off, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the breaded chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Sauce Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha until well combined.

Finishing

  • Once the chicken is done, remove it from the air fryer and toss it in the Bang Bang sauce until coated.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider using shrimp or tofu instead of chicken. Adjust spices in the breading for heat. Store leftovers in airtight containers, and reheat in the air fryer for best texture.
