  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it is at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Lightly grease a cake pan that fits well in your air fryer.
  • Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Cooking

  • Place the cake pan in the air fryer basket and cook for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once done, remove the cake carefully and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For serving, slice the cake into generous portions. Consider topping with fresh fruit, whipped cream, or a simple icing made with powdered sugar and milk. Store the cake wrapped or in an airtight container to keep it fresh for up to three days at room temperature or one week in the refrigerator.
