  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Preparation

  • Begin by preheating your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the chicken legs dry with a paper towel.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix until well combined.
  • Add the chicken legs to the bowl, ensuring each leg is coated with the seasoning mixture. Rub the seasoning in for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  • Place the chicken legs in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching to allow even airflow.
  • Cook the chicken legs in the air fryer for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C) for safety.
  • Once done, remove the chicken legs from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, give the chicken legs another quick blast of heat at the end of cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days in the refrigerator, or freeze for up to three months.
