  • 1 loaf Italian or French bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for the best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, sprinkle for heat)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place both halves on a cutting board.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of each bread half.
  • If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the butter.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place one half of the bread in the air fryer basket, cut side up.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes, checking for golden brown edges.
  • If using red pepper flakes, sprinkle them over the top before serving.
  • Remove from the air fryer carefully and repeat with the other half if necessary.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing for easy serving.

Notes

Serve garlic bread with pasta dishes, as an appetizer, or create open-faced sandwiches. For storage, wrap cooled garlic bread in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months.
