  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use plain or seasoned breadcrumbs as desired.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese Freshly grated cheese preferred for better melting.
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add for richness and flavor.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binding agent.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder For added flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning according to preference.
  • as needed Cooking spray or olive oil To grease the baking sheet.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, lightly coating it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • Steam or blanch the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until tender, then drain and chop finely.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix thoroughly.
  • Roll about a tablespoon of the mixture into a ball using your hands and place them onto the prepared baking sheet with space between each.
  • Lightly spray or brush the tops of the balls with cooking spray or olive oil for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake the balls in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Allow them to cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with dips like ranch, marinara, or tzatziki for extra flavor. To store, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for three months.
