Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-Ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Can use walnuts, pecans, or any nuts of choice.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set this aside.
  • In another large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.

Baking

  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges look set but the centers remain soft.
  • Allow them to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor variations, consider adding dried fruits, different types of chocolate chips, or spices like cinnamon. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze them for longer storage.
