Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Ensure to measure flour properly to avoid dry cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Butter should be at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time.

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Reserve some for topping before baking if desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between each.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Centers may appear slightly underbaked.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure the butter is at room temperature. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes enhances flavor and texture.
