Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Add-ins

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional
  • Sprinkles for decoration, optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt together until creamy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Mixing

  • Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using, until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Use a cookie scoop or a tablespoon to drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • If desired, sprinkle extra chocolate chips or sprinkles on top of each cookie dough ball.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until edges turn golden brown, but centers remain soft.
  • Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a better texture, chill your dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft and fresh.
