Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing until just blended.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips to ensure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center still looks slightly underbaked.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
