Ingredients
  

For the dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts Optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix well until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms. If using, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
  • Scoop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Enjoy these cookies warm with a glass of milk. They can also be served alongside fresh fruits or as ice cream sandwiches.
