Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure your jars are sterilized.
  • Place the fresh cranberries into a medium saucepan.
  • Zest and juice the large orange, and add both to the pot.
  • Add the sugar and water, stirring until well combined.

Cooking

  • Set your stove to medium heat and stir occasionally as the mixture heats up.
  • Cook for about 15 to 20 minutes until the cranberries pop and the mixture thickens.
  • Add the ground cinnamon and nutmeg, stirring thoroughly.
  • If desired, stir in the bourbon for added flavor.

Jarring

  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring to sterilized jars.
  • Leave headspace in the jars and seal tightly with lids.

Storage

  • You can refrigerate for immediate use or process in a water bath for longer storage.
