  • 2 pounds chicken wings Fresh wings for better crispiness
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Helps to achieve a crispy texture
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for added heat
  • 1 spray olive oil spray or cooking oil spray For greasing the air fryer basket

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Rinse the chicken wings in cold water and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper if using.
  • Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  • Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

Cooking

  • Cook the wings for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  • Once done, check that the wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). If necessary, continue cooking in 2-5 minute increments.
  • Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a variety of flavors, try tossing cooked wings in homemade sauces like buffalo, honey garlic, or lemon pepper. Serve with dipping sauces and garnishes.
