  • 10 pieces small corn or flour tortillas Use either type based on preference.
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced) Can use leftover chicken.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack) Choose your favorite cheese.
  • 1/2 cup refried beans (optional) Add for extra creaminess.
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning Or to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray For brushing or spraying the taquitos.

Garnishing and Serving

  • Fresh cilantro or green onions Optional, for garnish.
  • Salsa or guacamole Optional, for serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cheese, refried beans (if using), and taco seasoning. Mix until evenly blended.
  • Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet for about 20 seconds on each side to make them pliable.
  • Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the chicken filling onto each tortilla. Roll them tightly to enclose the filling.
  • Secure the rolled taquitos with a toothpick if needed.
  • Lightly brush the outside of each taquito with olive oil or spray them with cooking spray.

Cooking

  • Place the taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, turning halfway through.
  • Remove from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For the crispiest texture, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Consider double air frying for an extra minute at the end if desired.
