Ingredients
  

Tofu Preparation

  • 14 ounces firm or extra-firm tofu Press to remove moisture

Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Helps achieve crispy texture
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil Choose according to preference
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Press the tofu to remove excess moisture by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top for 15-30 minutes.
  • Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to blend the marinade.
  • Add the cubed tofu to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu and toss gently to coat.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.

Cooking

  • Cook the tofu for about 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
