Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for accurate measurement.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs Beat in one at a time.
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup sprinkles (rainbow or preferred mix) For folding in the dough and for topping (optional).

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated, then add the vanilla extract.

Mixing Dough

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the sprinkles gently to avoid bleeding colors.

Baking

  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion out the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Sprinkle additional sprinkles on top of each cookie if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges turn golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill dough for 30 minutes for better texture. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
