Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter and minced garlic until well combined. Add a pinch of salt and pepper for flavor.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread.

Cooking

  • Place two slices of bread in the skillet, butter side down.
  • Top each slice with a mix of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, ensuring even coverage.
  • Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, butter side facing out.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
  • Carefully flip the sandwiches over and cook for another 4-5 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese inside has melted.
  • Once cooked, remove from the skillet and let them cool slightly before slicing.
  • Optionally, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley or basil before serving.

Notes

To store leftovers, allow sandwiches to cool completely before wrapping in aluminum foil or storing in an airtight container. They can be refrigerated for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet for the best texture.
