  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Packed brown sugar is recommended
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Sifted before measuring
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Ghirardelli chocolate chips (semi-sweet preferred) Ensure even distribution in the dough

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients on low speed until just combined.
  • Fold in the Ghirardelli chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Scoop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Adjust baking times as needed based on your oven's performance.
