  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups chocolate chips or chunks Or other mix-ins of your choice

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another large bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until creamy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, mixing well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges turn golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
