  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line several baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula, ensuring even distribution.
  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Enjoy with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Consider adding sea salt before baking for extra flavor. Let cool before storing in an airtight container.
