Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps cookies rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor.

Mix-ins

  • 3 cups rolled oats Old-fashioned for texture.
  • 1 cup raisins For sweet chewy bites.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, stirring gently.

Final Mixing

  • Fold in the rolled oats and raisins until evenly combined.

Baking

  • Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on the sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, underbake slightly. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
