Taco Bell Mexican Pizza

A delicious twist on traditional pizza featuring layers of crispy tortillas, seasoned ground beef, refried beans, melted cheese, and fresh toppings.

Ingredients
  

Tortillas and Base

  • 8 pieces small flour tortillas

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with vegetarian options.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water

Beans and Cheese

  • 1 can refried beans (15 oz can)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Toppings

  • 3/4 cup taco sauce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced red onions
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Cooking Ingredients

  • to taste vegetable oil for frying Oil should be hot enough for frying.

Instructions
 

Preparation of Tortillas

  • Lightly fry or bake the flour tortillas until they turn golden brown and crispy.

Cook the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and drain excess fat.

Add Seasoning

  • Sprinkle in the taco seasoning and add water. Stir and let simmer for a few minutes.

Layering

  • On a baking sheet, place one tortilla down as the base, spread refried beans over it, followed by seasoned beef.

Assemble the Pizza

  • Add another tortilla on top, spread taco sauce, and sprinkle both cheeses evenly over it.

Bake

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 8-10 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.

Top It Off

  • Add diced tomatoes, red onions, a dollop of sour cream, and fresh cilantro.

Slice and Serve

  • Slice into quarters or sixths and serve hot.

Notes

For variations, try a vegetarian version or adding jalapeños for spice. Store in airtight containers.
