Chocolate Chips

  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips (mini or regular) For extra flavor, consider dark chocolate chips.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • In another bowl, combine the sugar, applesauce, vanilla extract, and egg white. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flair, dust cookies with powdered sugar or serve with whipped topping. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
